OSDP reader for MIFARE® 13.56 MHz cards with a glass front and keypad


The MM-R73 reader’s keypad can have any appearance, as suggested by the user, while maintaining the position of the buttons. This reader features a touch keypad and can read MIFARE® standard cards. The reader can work with any controller that uses the OSDP protocol (EN 60389-11-5).

The reader was designed to operate within the MicroMade Secure Identification System (MmSID). This allows for the creation of an access control system with the highest possible security grade, level 4. Depending on the configuration, the reader can read and transmit the following to the controller:

  • Encrypted data from MmSID installation cards (MIFARE® DESFire® type cards)
  • The unique identifier (UID) of MIFARE® proximity cards (in accordance with the ISO/IEC 14443A standard)
  • An identifier from the MmId app on an Android smartphone
  • The PIN code entered on the keypad

Reader configuration

MM-R7x series readers can be configured even after installation and connection to the OSDP bus. This is done using a special interface called MmSID Manager, which can search for all readers connected to the controller’s OSDP bus. It can then set the desired transmission speed, assign individual OSDP addresses required by the controller, and transmit the cryptographic keys needed to read cards for a given installation.

The MmSID Manager is operated using the MmSID Config software.

Installation

The MM-R73 reader’s housing is designed for mounting in a standard 60 mm installation box. It features four screw terminals for connecting the OSDP bus and power supply.

The reader is equipped with a mechanical anti-tamper sensor.

Modern design

A distinguishing feature of the MM-R73 is its glass front, which provides an elegant appearance and allows for any custom prints requested by the client (while maintaining the position of the keypad buttons). This offers virtually unlimited possibilities for adapting the readers to any interior, such as an elegant office building, a modern hospital, etc.

The design of the reader is a Registered Community Design filed with the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) under number 003075324-0001.
